Patty Powell![]() Owner operator of Paws pet-sitting service.
My love for animals and background in Hospitality and business managment provided me with the the experience to open one of Metrowest's first pet sitting services in 1990. Paws currently employs a dedicated staff of 25 sitters. I attribute our success to our staff of pet sitters who continually work hard and truly love their jobs. In the Fall of 2006 Kathy Sawyer took over the management of our company. I currently work remotely with Kathy to manage and promote the company. I am continually grateful to enjoy a very rewarding profession! |

Kathy Sawyer![]() Manager of Paws pet-sitting service. I have worked for Paws since 1993 when Patty hired me after I had used Paws to walk my very active Golden Retriever while I recovered from foot surgery. At first I was employed part time but left my nursing career in 2000 to work full time and now manage Paws along with pet sitting in the Northborough, Westborough, Southborough and Hopkinton areas. My past nursing experience has been helpful with pets needing medications, insulin and fluids. Also I am certified in Dog and Cat First Aid by the Red Cross. I have owned dogs over 35 years, presently a Golden Retriever Delia and a rescue Coton de Tulear named Rosemary. I enjoy training them and competing in Obedience and Agility. My girls are also Therapy dogs. I also work part time as an assistant dog trainer Surefire dog training in Westborough. When not involved in all my dog activities I am an avid quilter and enjoy making a line of doggie themed tote bags under the label “ The Sew Nutty Stitcher”! |

Bev Schairer![]() My career in Pet sitting began after having a wonderful experience having PAWS take care of my two dogs, two cats, lots of fish and a turtle when we first moved to MA. Over the years I have taken the American Red Cross Dog and Cat First Aid Class and have taken my dogs through beginner obedience classes. I am also a substitute teacher for a private child care center and I have 3 grown children. Nothing better than playing with children and pets for a career!

Barbara Brais I have loved animals of all kinds for as long as I can remember, though I did not get my first dog until I was an adult. It was instant love between him and me, and I cannot now imagine not having a dog in my life. All our animals have been rescues. Our current dog is an American Eskimo named Gulliver, as in Gulliver’s Travels, as he had been in several rescue organizations before he found us. I have taken care of many kinds of animals and birds since getting together with PAWS, including reptiles and rodents, and find them all interesting. There is not another job in the world where you can get such a wonderful welcome just by coming in the door! |

Pam Hawkins![]() Pam offers in her home boarding as well as pet sitting in your home
Hi! My name is Pam Hawkins and I am one of the newest members of the PAWS family. I am recently retired from state service and so excited to finally be able to realize my dream of working with animals!!
I have been a cat mom since I was 7 years old but right now I am currently a dog mom, I started with 3 oversized male papillons, one of became my champion agility dog and titled in Rally Obedience. I now have 2 female standard sized papillons, both of whom are and will be competing in multiple performance sports.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working for PAWS and our wonderful clients. I treat your furkid as my own and take pride in making sure they get lots of love and attention.
Besides doing vacation and daily visits, I also offer pet sitting in my North Worcester home. Although it is a small house, it is set up perfectly to accommodate 1 or 2 guest dogs at a time. I have a fenced in yard, divided into a potty area and a larger area to run in. I will accept toy breeds under 20 lbs, neutered/spayed and they MUST be crate trained and able to be left in the crate for a few hours at a time while I work at my other PT job. Dogs must be non reactive and get along well with the house dogs. A meet and greet will be mandatory (no charge to you). Senior dogs, incontinent dogs are welcome and meds can be given.
If you have a cat or dog in the Worcester, Holden, West Boylston, Boylston or Shrewsbury area that needs personal attention while you are at work or on vacation, please contact PAWS and ask for me!
